Deposed Emir Sanusi Supports CBN Relocation Amid Political Backlash
Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has voiced his support for the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to relocate some of its departments from Abuja to Lagos, amidst opposition from Northern politicians.
In a statement, Sanusi urged the authorities to disregard the “noise” generated by regional politics, emphasizing that Abuja is a federal capital, not exclusively a Northern concern.
Sanusi expressed empathy for individuals facing challenges due to the CBN relocation, suggesting that the CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, consider special circumstances such as mothers with children in school or those with medical conditions.
