Ibadan, Oyo State – Elder statesman and former governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande, issued a stark warning during his 85th birthday celebration and the unveiling of the Adebisi Akande Foundation (AAF).

He declared that Nigeria’s future politicians are poised to be even more corrupt than the present leaders.

Addressing a distinguished audience, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who represented President Bola Tinubu, and Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, who represented Vice President Kashim Shettima, Akande urged political leaders, especially those affiliated with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to be vigilant against emerging political figures with questionable intentions.

“We are in a Nigeria where everybody is more corrupt. Corruption is on everybody’s mind. These vagabonds are in the party and struggling to become leaders. Armageddon has started. These coming political vagabonds are going to fight with you,” Akande cautioned.

He emphasized that these upcoming political figures, hiding under the guise of the current leaders, are not only more corrupt but also more influential and richer. Akande warned that if the present leaders are not cautious, these newcomers could wrestle power away from them.

“They have more money and are possibly richer than you. They will fight and possibly take over power if you are not careful, but they don’t mean well for the nation,” he stated emphatically.
