Damon Johnson, originally from Macon, Georgia, grew up in Monroeville, Alabama. During his time in the eighth grade, he formed a close friendship with Pat Buskill, Mac Baker, Allen Nettles, and Troy Dobbins, who later became his bandmates in the first garage band he played with, Renegade.
Afterward, Damon and his family moved to Geraldine, Alabama, where he completed his high school education.
