Davido Reschedules Warri Concert, Criticizes Event Organizers and Addresses Payment Controversy

Nigerian music sensation, Davido, has set a new date for his much-anticipated performance in Warri, following his absence from the 19th edition of the Warri Again concert.

The event, held on October 6, aimed to honor entertainers originating from the Niger Delta region.

Former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, previously called out Davido for his non-appearance, asserting that the artist had received $94,600 for the performance.

Additionally, a chartered plane, costing the state an additional $18,000, was arranged for Davido’s transportation.

In response to the allegations, Davido indirectly addressed Pinnick’s statements, emphasizing the importance of considering one’s own actions before criticizing others.

Taking to Instagram, Davido announced a rescheduled performance in Warri, slated for December.

He expressed his confusion over the event organizers’ decision to promote the show using his name, despite having informed them months in advance about his unavailability.

He stated, “I will be performing in WARRI DECEMBER! I wan see who get mind stop me … body go tell u.”

Davido extended his apologies to his dedicated fans in Warri, acknowledging their investment in attending the event.

He reiterated his earlier communication regarding his inability to participate in the concert, underscoring that this information was conveyed to the organizers well in advance.

Regarding the controversy with Pinnick, Davido pledged to donate money to the NFF, an institution he believes has faced prolonged challenges.

He expressed his intention to double any money returned and highlighted the difficulties that many Nigerian footballers encounter in realizing their dreams.

In a direct challenge to Pinnick, Davido urged him to “come outside” for a conversation. He concluded by expressing his desire to collaborate with the NFF, emphasizing the need for positive change in the organization.
