Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Makurdi on Tuesday morning for questioning.

According to reports, the ex-governor arrived at the anti-graft agency’s office around 10 a.m., accompanied by some of his personal aides

He was said to have been summoned by the commission to answer questions about his eight years as governor of the state.

It should be remembered that before leaving office, the former governor promised to stay in the country for at least five months to answer any questions that might arise from his eight years in office.

He also promised to appear before anti-corruption authorities if questioned about any matter.

“Anytime you are invited by the EFCC, don’t be afraid to go, as for me, I am not a coward to run away from the EFCC, if they come for me, I will follow them,” he said.

Though no EFCC official provided any information on the former governor’s visit at the time of this report (12:55 pm), the former governor was still in the confines of the anti-graft agency’s Makurdi office.
