Tinubu’s Govt: I Won’t Accept To Serve As FCT Minister – El-Rufai
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has stated that he will not serve as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
El-Rufai played a crucial role in the transfer of power from the north to the south, an arrangement that benefited President-elect Bola Tinubu.

There have been rumours that the departing governor will serve as either Chief of Staff or FCT Minister in the incoming administration.
El-Rufai, who was appointed FCT minister by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, had previously distanced himself from rumours that he is seeking the position.
El-Rufai stated on Tuesday during a policy discussion and book launch in Abuja, “I have completed my mission, I am finished, and I do not look back. In fact, the only time I returned to FCT after leaving was in 2016, when a former classmate was appointed minister and requested to see me.
“After leaving a job, I never look back. If I leave Kaduna in 19 days, I will only return if absolutely essential. Therefore, I do not consider the FCT. I’ve done my bit. I make no comment on the performance of those who followed me.

“Even if invited, I will not visit Abuja. As previously stated, I never repeat a course, and I can recommend a number of young people who would do an even better job as minister of FCT than I did.
“I am too old to participate. Get a young man with blood in his veins or a young woman to do the demolition.”
