The Federal Government has announced that Wednesday, September 27, 2023, will be a in Nigeria to mark the Eid-ul-Maulid celebration. Eid-ul-Maulid is the Islamic festival that commemorates the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who is regarded as the final messenger of Allah by Muslims.

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement issued on Monday by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Shuaib Belgore. The minister congratulated all Muslim faithful on the occasion and urged them to imbibe the spirit of love, patience and perseverance, which are the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He also called on all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and progress of the country, especially as it faces various challenges such as insecurity, economic hardships and inflation.
