Hanu Fejiro Agbodje, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Patricia Technologies, took to his official X account to share the news. In his post, he revealed that the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) had announced the arrest of Wilfred Bonse and his associates.

The fintech platform Patricia had earlier disclosed a temporary suspension of withdrawals, attributing it to a recent hack that compromised its retail trading application, impacting both BTC and naira assets. The platform cited internal restructuring as the reason for the temporary withdrawal halt.

Agbodje stated on Saturday, November 25, 2023, “Wilfred Bonse, a Governorship Candidate in Cross River 2023 elections, who was used to steal N607,000,000 from Patricia.”

He assured users that repayment has begun and will continue until every affected user is reached. The investigation is ongoing, with the focus on bringing all involved parties, including politicians used in laundering the stolen money, to justice.

This development underscores the complex intersection of politics, finance, and technology, with potential legal implications for those involved in the alleged fraud.
