As the elections get closer, former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed concern over the trend that has been developing in the political system.

We have observed a level of acrimony in our politics, which does not lead to advancement, and I beg politicians to understand that marketing is about marketing your ideas. The art of politics does not involve physical conflict, the hurling of insults, or the use of abusive language, Goodluck stated.
“We have been reading about how billboards of presidential candidates, governorship candidates, and other candidates have been pulled down and I believe by hoodlums.
However, sometimes they say that some governments even support those kinds of things, and we have been reading about it in the newspapers and on social media.
