Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, led a heartfelt mass of thanksgiving at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Awka on Sunday, January 14, to honor and remember the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes. The occasion was part of the activities marking the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

During the solemn ceremony, paid tribute to the unwavering dedication of security operatives across the nation, emphasizing that their selfless services would forever be etched in the collective memory of the country.

“In March 2022, when eight local government areas were under siege, it was the professionalism and commitment of the Armed Forces, alongside the Anambra Vigilante services and the support of our people, that ultimately led to the return of peace,” Governor Soludo stated.

Expressing deep appreciation on behalf of the people of Anambra,  governor Soludo declared continuous prayers for the safety and well-being of the security forces. The mass, marked by reverence and gratitude, showcased a united front in acknowledging the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces in the pursuit of peace and security.

The Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Rev. Fr. Charles Ndubisi, delivered a poignant homily, underscoring God’s constant search for those dedicated to their purpose on earth.
