In a tragic turn of events, the Nigerian military suffered a devastating blow as 16 of its personnel attached to the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State were brutally killed by hoodlums.

Brigadier-General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, confirmed the harrowing details, revealing that the troops, including a reinforcement team led by the commanding officer, were mercilessly attacked. The casualties included the commanding officer, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers, marking a significant loss for the military and the nation as a whole.
