We Were Lured, Bribe With N1 Million To Suspend Iyorchia Ayu – PDP Chieftain
It has been alleged that some PDP members from Igyoruv Ward who started the process of removing former PDP National Chairman Dr. Iyorchia Ayu received bribes.
Remember that Ayu was replaced after being suspended by his Igyorov Ward in the Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State on March 26th.

Speaking to Ejes Gist News Nigeria, a member of the party’s Ayu’s Igyoruv ward Executive Council described how the Philip Msughve-led exco allegedly fell for the scheme to remove him from the high office.
He claimed that following the governorship and state Assembly elections, the executive committee was requested to report to the party’s state secretariat in Makurdi.
They were informed, according to sources, that the report would allow the party to submit their petition to the election petition tribunal.
They were taken to a hotel in the Makurdi metropolis where journalists were waiting after providing the information.
Then, Bemgba Iortyom, the PDP publicity secretary for Benue State, allegedly gave them a statement that had already been written and was ready to be read to journalists.

After the ward secretary had read the statement, they were required to sign it before having their cell phones seized and turned off.
The source disclosed that some exco members’ names were misspelt and even signed before the document was made available to those who could sign it.
According to the Ward Executive, they were asked to return to their homes with N1 million each sent to their bank accounts along with one motorbike for each member of the exco after being kept away from the public for a number of days.
Iortyom, the PDP’s Benue State Publicity Secretary, told newsmen when he was contacted by him: “You should bring the person who made these allegations. That is a specific accusation made against me. I won’t discuss the situation further if the person doesn’t come forward.
