In a tweet on Saturday, Kayamo responded to a viral news claim about his property in the United States.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment has responded to allegations regarding his property in the United States. He stated that he obtained the property through legal means and emphasised that the house in question is of minimal significance compared to his other assets.
Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has refuted claims that he acquired a US home for over $300,000 shortly after assuming office in 2019. Keyamo stated that he had declared his assets prior to becoming a public office holder and invited anyone to verify what he owned at the time. He dismissed the claim as unfounded.

In a recent statement, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) emphasised that he did not resort to embezzlement in order to acquire any of his properties. He further stated that he adhered to the regulations that prohibit public officials from maintaining offshore bank accounts, in order to promote accountability and transparency.
As per Keyamo’s statement, the funds in question were accumulated over several years from his personal savings as a legal practitioner and property investor.
According to him, it is unfortunate that individuals such as himself who operate in a humble manner are still undervalued despite their accomplishments.
