Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, candidate for president of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has made a new revelation about sanusi’s dethronement.
According to him, the incoming Kano government will reconsider the dethronement of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, the fourteenth Emir of Kano.

Sanusi, who became emir during Kwankwaso’s final term as governor, was dethroned by Kwankwaso’s successor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who was deputy governor when the monarch was installed.
Sanusi was deposed on March 9, 2020, exiled from Kano, and exiled to Loko, a remote community in Nasarawa State, pending an investigation into the expenses of the emirate he led.
Ganduje also divided the emirate into five and appointed five equal emirs.
Kwankwao, however, stated in a viral video that the dethronement and balkanization of the emirate would be reviewed by the government of Abba Kabir Yusuf, the incoming governor, also known as Abba Gida-Gida.
“We have campaigned, and as you know, we are popular in Nigeria, particularly in the state of Kano. We are now back, and God willing, we will continue the good work that the previous administration began. This incoming governor and his administration will adopt them.”

“As elders, we will continue to counsel them to act morally. We attempted not to intervene in the issue of bringing or removing an Emir, but the time has come to do so.
“Those who have been granted this opportunity will consider the issues. They will examine what is expected of them. In addition to the Emir, the emirate has been divided into five locations. All of these must be investigated. Typically, a leader inherits issues that are difficult to resolve.”
He prayed further for God’s intervention so that the incoming governor would be able to handle the situation with ease.
