Kano State Governor Responds to Court Ruling Amidst Political Turmoil

Amidst the aftermath of the Appeal Court’s decision that unseated him from office, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Kano State governor, has broken his silence, attributing his recent legal setbacks to what he perceives as orchestrated assaults against his political mentor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Yusuf’s reaction came during a pivotal gathering of the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano, where he addressed stakeholders for the first time since the appellate court’s ruling confirmed the tribunal’s earlier decision to remove him from office.

Speaking passionately at the event convened by Kwankwaso, the governor expressed unwavering support for his political mentor.

“We are going to continue working under his (Kwankwaso) guidance and leadership to do the needful, God willing. But we must appreciate him (Kwankwaso) and be immensely grateful to him and we have to tell him that we are really proud of him,” Yusuf declared.

He urged party leaders to remain steadfast, advocating against engaging in verbal altercations while redirecting their efforts towards uplifting the people of Kano.
