Jigawa judicial service commission sacks judge over N50,000 bribe

 

Justice Safiyanu Muhammad Dabi of the Upper Shari’a Court in Birnin Kudu was dismissed by the Jigawa State Judicial Service Commission for accepting a bribe of Fifty Thousand Naira (50,000) from a litigant.

 

This was disclosed in a statement issued to Ejes Gist News Nigeria by Abbas Rufa’i Wangara, Director of Publicity and Protocol for the State Judiciary.

He claimed that the judge accepted a bribe of N50,000 when the litigant appeared before him at the Upper Shari’a Court in Birnin Kudu.

 

Following extensive deliberation at its 170th meeting, the Judicial Service Commission decided collectively to mandate the judge’s retirement, according to the statement.
