Matthew Akawu, PDP House Of Assembly Candidate in Plateau State Is Dead
Matthew Akawu, who was running as a candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the elections for the Pengana State Constituency in Plateau State in 2023, has passed away.
According to a source close to the family, Akawu, who was supposed to carry the party’s flag in the election for the State Assembly in 2023, was seen on Wednesday at an event celebrating the new year in the constituency. The event was held there.

After returning home, he reported that he wasn’t feeling well, his condition continued to deteriorate, and he was eventually taken to the hospital.
The information provided by the source indicated that “unfortunately, he passed away in the early hours of Friday.”
Additionally speaking, John Akans, who serves as the Publicity Secretary for the PDP in the state, confirmed the passing of the candidate.

“Yes, we are aware of the death of our candidate for the Pengana State Assembly constituency, but the party will issue a statement on that, and that’s all I can tell you,” the representative said. “That being said, the party will issue a statement on that.”
