Former Senate Spokesperson, , Passes On at 65

The Nigerian political landscape is mourning the loss of a seasoned politician and former , Ayogu Eze, who passed away on April 25, 2024 at the age of 65.

Eze, a two-time senator representing Enugu North on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), died at an Abuja hospital after a prolonged illness.

Born on November 23, 1958, Eze was a founding member of the PDP before defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he contested the Enugu state governorship election. During his time in the Senate, he served as chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Media, making him the official spokesperson of the Senate in 2007. He was re-elected in 2011 and appointed chairman of the Committee on Works.

Eze’s political career spanned several committees, including Police Affairs, National Planning, Marine Transport, and Federal Character & Inter-Government Affairs. His dedication and commitment to public service earned him a reputation as a seasoned and respected politician.

Ayogu Eze Appointed as Commissioner.
