Tricyclist (Keke Driver) stoned to death for killing passenger over N50 in Bayelsa
In Yenizue-Epie community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, on Wednesday evening, April 19, a commercial tricycle rider known only as Keke was assassinated by an enraged mob shortly after he fatally stabbed a young man named Douglas Joseph.
Douglas Joseph, 30, until his untimely death was a local resident and father of three.

He claimed to be travelling from the Opolo community to Kpansia, which was supposed to cost N100, but the Keke rider insisted on charging N150, according to an eye witness who described the incident to Ejes Gist News Nigeria.
“We saw the Keke rider pull out a dagger as we were separating them. We believed it was done merely to frighten children. However, the young man was stabbed while sitting on his lap and fell to the ground. The Keke rider was prevented from escaping by people. Sadly, his injured victim passed away.
The Keke rider was killed, as a mob attacked him with various objects before they lynched him.

The unfortunate murder of a young member of the community by a tricycle rider prompted the Bayelsa State Police Command to respond to the incident by deploying its Anti Riot Squad to restore order to Kpansia and its surroundings.
