Naira Marley Demands Security Guarantee Before Submitting to Investigation in Mohbad’s Case

Amidst mounting allegations linking Nigerian rapper Azeez Adeshina Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, to the untimely demise of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, the artist has laid out a crucial condition for his cooperation in the investigation.

Naira Marley asserts that he is prepared to subject himself to scrutiny, provided that security agencies can ensure his safety throughout the process.

Calls for an inquiry into Naira Marley’s involvement in Mohbad’s death emerged, accusing him of purportedly backing individuals who reportedly intimidated and harassed the late singer after his contentious exit from Marlian Music label in 2022.

Speaking during an interview with Reno Omokri, Naira Marley disclosed that he has been residing abroad since August 31, 2023, and only learned about Mohbad’s passing through social media.

The artist clarified Mohbad’s status within Marlian Music, affirming, “He [Mohbad] has left Marlian Music since… I don’t know the particular date but since 2022, he has left Marlian Music.”

Addressing the allegations, Naira Marley expressed profound sorrow over Mohbad’s tragic passing and categorically denied any involvement.

He emphasized, “If you’re blaming me, how did I kill him? I have nothing to do with his death or whatsoever.”

In an unwavering stance, Naira Marley declared his readiness to return to Nigeria for questioning, provided that law enforcement agencies can guarantee his safety.

He fervently rejected any affiliation with cults, asserting, “I don’t belong to any cult. I don’t know what a cult is. I have been running away from all these people. I’m actually anti-cult.”

Following Mohbad’s demise, the police have initiated an official investigation. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has also extended an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to participate in the inquiry, underlining the gravity and significance of the case.

As the investigation unfolds, Nigerians and the music industry alike await the findings, hopeful for a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s tragic passing.
