Lagos State Police Awaits Autopsy Result of Late Afrobeats Star Mohbad, 2 Months After Exhumation

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that it is yet to receive the autopsy report of the late Afrobeats sensation, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad, whose demise on September 12 shook the nation amid controversy.

The 27-year-old musician’s death raised questions, prompting Nigerians to call for an autopsy to ascertain the actual cause of his passing.

On September 21, exactly two months ago, Mohbad’s body was exhumed from its burial site in Ikorodu, Lagos State, to conduct the vital post-mortem examination.

Initially, on October 6, the state police command announced the completion of the autopsy but clarified that the results were pending.

However, as speculations and anticipation from the public mounted, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, clarified in a recent conversation with Punch on Monday, November 20, that they are yet to receive the official autopsy findings.

Hundeyin emphasized the importance of factual information, highlighting that despite rumors circulating about the completion of the report, the Command is committed to working based on officially received documents.

He stressed the need for the results to be delivered officially and signed for by the Command before its acknowledgment.

The delay in the release of the autopsy result has sustained public interest and raised concerns among Nigerians who await official confirmation of the findings to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the talented musician’s untimely demise.
