In a revealing twist, documents have surfaced, exposing Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu approval of millions for a police commissioner and top lawyers mere days before the 2023 general election.

According to documents from the Public Procurement awards in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2023, the state government greenlit a staggering N24.5 million for the renovation of the police commissioner’s official residence.

The approval by Omay Engineering Services Ltd, dated February 6, came just days before the February 25 general election, sparking questions about the timing and intent behind such expenditures.

Not stopping there, the Ministry of Justice disbursed a hefty N200 million to four senior lawyers tasked with representing Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat in pre-election matters, raising eyebrows about the scale of legal expenses incurred for political purposes.

In another intriguing development, the Lagos State Government allocated N20.8 million for the decoration of the venue for the political delegates’ congress. Surprisingly, this allocation occurred more than three months after the 2023 general elections, leaving observers puzzled about the delayed expenditure.
