The reacted on Tuesday after the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) released the details of sixteen officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army who were recently killed in Delta State.

The army personnel, including a Lieutenant Colonel, two majors, one captain, and 12 soldiers, were killed by youths while on a peace mission at Okuoma community in Delta State.

The slain officers and soldiers were attached to the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, which included the Commanding Officer of the 181 Amphibious Battalion.

The lifeless bodies of the army officers and soldiers were retrieved by the Nigerian Army after they responded to a distress call following a communal clash between the Okuoma and Okoloba communities in the South-South state.

In a post via its official handle alongside a photo collage on Monday evening, the DHQ released the photos and names of the slain personnel.

Some of the victims included Lt Colonel AH Ali (the Command Officer, 181 Amphibious Battalion, Nigerian Army), Maj SD Shafa, Maj DE Obi, Capt U Zakari, SSgt Yahaya Saidu, Cpl Yahaya Danbaba, Col Kabiru Bashir, LCol Bulus Haruna, Lal Sole Opeyemi, LCpl Bello Anas, LCpl Hamman Peter, LCpl Ibrahim Abdullahi, Pte Alhaji Isah, Pte Clement Francis, Pte Abubakar Ali, and Pte Ibrahim Adamu.

Reacting, the Presidency wrote: “Rest in Peace, our fallen heroes,” via its official handle, and also shared the names of the deceased operatives
