MultiChoice has announced that Nigerian Idol season 8 is set to begin on April 23, 2023. The kickoff time is 7:00 pm West Africa Time.

Busola Tejumola, head of content and West Africa channels, announced in a media briefing on Tuesday in Lagos that the music reality show will run for nine weeks.

Tejumola highlighted that the show aims to further develop and showcase the abundant musical talents in Nigeria.

“I’m excited that Nigerian Idol will keep providing talented artists with a platform to showcase their skills and the chance to achieve fame through their hard work and dedication,” she said.

The platform is designed to provide contestants with the tools they need to succeed.

Tejumola announced that the lucky winner of this season will be taking home a grand prize of N100 million, which includes a cash prize of N30 million.

The Great now is that the show will be televised across three Africa Magic channels — Urban, Showcase, and Family, as well as a pop-up channel.

D’banj, Simi, and Obi Osika, the music producer, have been selected to judge this season.
