Ogun tribunal: NNPP withdraws petition against Abiodun, INE
In Ogun State, the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, withdrew its petition against Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Earlier, Ejes Gist News Nigeria reported that the NNPP had petitioned the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Ogun, claiming that its name and logo did not appear on the ballots used for the 18 March election.

Olaposi Oginni, chairman of the NNPP in Ogun, filed the petition bearing the designation EPT/OG/GOV/01/2023 requesting the complete cancellation of the election.
Oginni disclosed to reporters in Abeokuta on Sunday that the NNPP had filed a notice of discontinuance of the petition with the tribunal.
According to Oginni, the same ballots used in Ogun were also used in Kano State, where the NNPP defeated the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the governor’s race.
“The petition has died and been buried. As a party, we will return to the drawing board prior to 2027, and we hope to get it right,” he said, adding that if the petition is successful, it will alter the political calendar of Ogun State and disrupt the state’s political system.
