Onitsha flood victims receive relief from International Breweries

International Breweries Plc, a proud subsidiary of AB InBev, the largest brewer in the world with over 500 beer brands, donated relief supplies to various affected communities in Onitsha and the surrounding area in response to the humanitarian crisis brought on by the floods in some areas of the country.

Millions of Naira worth of relief supplies were donated by International Breweries Plc to the flood victims in the Ogbaru Local Area of Anambra State.

Daily necessities like branded bags of rice, malt cans, cartons of spaghetti, and cartons of vegetable oil were among the items. Over the weekend, the supplies were delivered to Chinedu Okosa, the camp manager.

International Breweries Plc’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Damian Igwe, expressed sympathy to the populace and the Anambra State Government for the loss of lives and property while speaking at the presentation of items.

“This is one of our corporate social responsibility interventions,” Igwe said. The goal is to assist the displaced residents of Ogbaru LGA by providing relief supplies, primarily food. We are moved by the people’s suffering and are simply acting with the compassion that a socially conscious organization would show in such a situation.

Fidelis Igwe, Plant Manager of International Breweries Plc in Onitsha, also commented. He said the community of Ogbaru had been a good host to the company and that the company felt it was its duty to assist them during this trying time. “It’s good that we return favors when they are due. We believed it was crucial to provide the neighborhood with something to keep them going,” he said.

The camp manager, Chinedu Okosa, thanked International Breweries Plc for the gift after accepting it. Okosa claims that each apartment in the two buildings that Hon. With approximately 1,046 displaced people from 647 households, Chuchu Onyema’s Ogbaru Federal Constituency was completely occupied.

Due to the lack of adequate facilities in the camp, Okosa pleaded with the state and Ogbaru Local Governments to do more for the displaced people.

One of the displaced, Miss Chioma Okeke, expressed excitement about returning home to resume her studies. “Since I am supposed to be in school learning alongside other students, I have lost a lot of academic ground. The rest of the world is cut off from my community, she claimed.
