Police Confirm Abduction of High Court Judge in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has officially confirmed the distressing , Justice Joy Uwana, and her driver in a harrowing incident that unfolded on the Uyo-Okobo road in the Oron Local Government Area.

In the tragic turn of events, the police orderly accompanying the judge lost his life during the attack, prompting a swift response from law enforcement authorities.

Speaking to the Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Uyo, SP Odiko Macdon, the force  command’s spokesman, revealed that an intensive investigation is underway to track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe release of the judge and her driver.

Describing the incident as “unfortunate and dastardly,” Macdon assured the public that the police command, under the directives of Commissioner of Police Olatoye Durusinmi, is deploying all available resources to expedite the resolution of the case and reunite Justice Joy Uwana with her family.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased officer. This act is regrettable and does not represent the peace-loving nature of Akwa Ibom,” expressed Macdon.

He emphasized the commitment of the force to bring the perpetrators to justice and urged the people of Akwa Ibom to carry on with their normal activities.

In a show of solidarity, Macdon reiterated the dedication of authorities to restoring peace and security in the state.

He cautioned criminals to desist from unlawful activities, emphasizing the unwavering determination of law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and ensure a safe environment for all residents.

“We call on the good people of Akwa Ibom to carry on with their lawful activities without fear.
