Earlier in the week, Ejes Gist Media disclosed that the police had summoned Israel Joe regarding the proposed protest. The state police command issued an invitation for a meeting at the State Headquarters in Asaba, emphasizing the need for Joe to bring at least two executives from his team.

Despite complying with the police meeting, Joe revealed that he was also summoned by the Deputy Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), who expressed concerns about the potential security risks associated with the protest.

In the wake of these developments, soldiers from the Nigerian Army 3 Battalion in Effurun arrested Israel at the protest venue on Friday morning, subsequently delivering him to the police at Ekpan Station.

The police, allegedly considering terrorism charges, assert that Joe’s involvement in organizing the protest could incite insecurity in the state.
