Popular lawmaker dies three days after inauguration (Photo)

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Member of the Kaduna House of Assembly representing Chikun Constituency, Madami Garba Madami, has passed away. Madami succumbed to his illness on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital, just three days after the assembly’s inauguration.

Due to an undisclosed ailment, the late member was unable to participate in the inauguration of the 10th State Assembly, which took place on June 13, 2023. The confirmation of his demise came from Ibrahim Sale, the Ardo Ardodin, a traditional title holder from Madami’s constituency of Chikun.

Governor Senator Uba Sani expressed deep shock upon hearing the news and extended his condolences to the immediate family and constituents of Chikun. Governor Sani highlighted Madami’s reputation for promoting peaceful coexistence and his high level of respect within the community.

In his statement, the governor offered prayers for the peaceful repose of Madami’s soul and for solace to be granted to his family, friends, associates, and constituents. Throughout his lifetime, Madami served as a dedicated Member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Chikun Constituency. He also held positions such as Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area, Commissioner of Planning and Budget, and Special Adviser Political to the late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.
