The incumbent President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has recently taken the decision to suspend Barrister Hudu Yunusa Ari, who serves as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State.

The ultimate outcome of Hudu’s situation will be determined following a thorough investigation conducted by the Inspector General of Police.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has released a statement on behalf of the President, instructing the Inspector General of Police to conduct a prompt investigation into Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari. The President has also directed that if any wrongdoing is discovered, Ari should be prosecuted accordingly.

President Buhari has directed an investigation by the Inspector General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps into the alleged involvement of their officers in aiding and abetting the conduct and actions of Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari. If found guilty, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against them.
