Commercial Driver Attacks Doctor With Cutlass Over His Son’s Death In Ondo
A commercial driver whose identity remains unknown has caused significant unrest in Ondo State.
A doctor was allegedly injured with a cutlass by a driver over the death of his five-year-old son.

The incident, which occurred at the Mother and Child hospital in Oke aro, Akure, is said to have paralysed hospital operations.
According to an eyewitness, the man used the cutlass to severely injure one of the on-duty nurses.
The attack, according to the witness, caused hospital staff and patients to flee for safety.
“As soon as the man entered the hospital with the child, every nurse on duty rushed to his aid, and the child was admitted and placed on life support for free.
“The father of the child was later told to pay N8,000, but sadly, the child gave up during this process.”

According to a second source, the children were ill, but the parents opted for self-medication and conventional treatments.
“It was unknown what prompted them to rush him to the hospital for treatment at the eleventh hour.”
A hospital employee who requested anonymity stated that the deceased child’s stomach and scrotum were swollen upon admission.
It was determined that the suspect fled with his child’s remains after police failed to apprehend him.
SP Funmilayo Odunlami Omisanya, the Ondo Police spokesperson, could not be reached by press time.
