Prominent Osun Monarch, Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye Olaigbo VIII Is Dead

 

The popular monarch of Osun, Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye Olaigbo VIII, the Elende of Eko-Ende, has died.

 

Oba Olaniyan, whose domain was in the Ifelodun local government area of the state, reportedly passed away on Sunday at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi-Araba, Lagos State.

Meanwhile, The Zonal Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Minna, Niger State, identified as Femi, is currently in the custody of the State Police Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, on suspicion of homicide by criminal culpability.

 

Ejes Gist News Nigeria learned that Femi is suspected of complicity in the death of a married woman, Mrs. Christiana Williams, which occurred at his residence on Bay clinic road, Minna, on Saturday afternoon.

The alleged asthmatic woman had visited the house of the NDLEA zonal commander under the guise of selling undergarments, where they had sexual relations, and had subsequently developed a crisis and collapsed.

The suspect rushed the deceased to Bay Clinic on Bay Clinic road in Minna at 2:00 p.m. yesterday, and the death was confirmed by doctors upon arrival at the hospital.

However, when the hospital suspected foul play, our correspondent learned that the hospital quickly contacted the Police at the Tudun-Wada Police Station, in response to claims by the NDLEA zonal commander that the woman came to his house to supply him with pants, and that she had an asthmatic crisis while he rushed out to get an inhaler for her.

 

However, it was learned that the husband, Williams, who was shocked and saddened by the incident, claimed that his asthmatic wife did not carry an inhaler but did have prescription medications she used to calm the situation.

Accordingly, the suspect was reportedly apprehended by the Tundun-Wada police command and subsequently transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID, for further investigation.

A reliable hospital source told our Correspondent that “the suspect brought the deceased woman to the hospital naked, but returned home with her trousers, bra, and other clothing items and put them on her.”

 

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident when contacted.

 

According to him, the matter is currently being investigated.
