Mr. Ahmad made these comments in light of the fact that the price of petrol reached N617 on Tuesday.
This increase followed the jump from N195 to N540 on May 29, when President Bola Tinubu eliminated fuel subsidies upon assuming office.
Mele Kyari, the managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPCL), attributed the soaring price of premium motor spirit to market conditions.
