Subpoena The Investigators Who Handled Tinubu’s Drug Case In US To Testify In Supreme Court – Akeregha
Igho Akeregha has come out to speak on the quick steps the court can take in order to give their ruling on Labour Party’s presidential election petition in no distant time.
Stop congratulating Tinubu, Prominent Islamic cleric warns Nigerians, give reason
According to Mr. Akeregha who spoke to our correspondent, the case of Tinubu’s indictment for drug related crime in the United States, which was included in the petition before the court will be easily presided over in a few weeks if a subpoena could be sent to the investigators of that case to have them come to Nigeria, and testify before the supreme court.
In his own words as seen on AIT this morning…
“Nobody has disputed the document that revealed Tinubu was convicted for drug related crime in the US. What Bayo Onanuga said was that it was more than 10 years ago and that the Nigerian specifies that you can run for an election with the effusion of time, probably after 10 years. So they are agreeing that it did happen, so it’s no longer alleged. So the president elect, by their own admission is a convict and if he is a convict, what do the supreme court need to do? Why waste so much time?”
“They can subpoena the Investigators who investigated the case to Nigeria to come and testify before the supreme court. Somebody can be subpoena from the United States to come and testify about that happened. If that is done, the other aspect we have to look at will be the alleged double nomination.”
