Synagogue Church Dismisses Documentary on Late as Unfounded and Fictional

The () vehemently opposed the recent BBC documentary on the late Temitope Babatunde Joshua, known as TB Joshua, founder of SCOAN, terming it as baseless and asserting that the individuals interviewed were unknown to the church.

In a statement signed by its Public Affairs Director, Mr Dare Adejumo, SCOAN aimed to counter the public’s misconceptions fostered by the BBC report, refuting the allegations portrayed in the documentary.

The controversial BBC documentary, released on Monday, accused TB Joshua of several crimes, including rape against members of the church.

Dismissing these claims, SCOAN emphasized that investigative journalism should adhere to ethical standards, balance, fairness, and objectivity, which, according to the church, BBC’s documentary deviated from.

The church further criticized BBC’s approach, calling it a deviation from true journalism, branding the reports as offensive and manipulative.

SCOAN asserted that the documentary’s portrayal failed to acknowledge the significant impacts and miraculous healings thousands received through TB Joshua’s ministry, denouncing the BBC’s alleged bias and disregard for testimonies affirming the late prophet’s positive influence.

Challenging BBC’s claims, SCOAN questioned the credibility of the individuals involved in the interviews, alleging some as relics of homosexual and lesbian associations, and discrediting their sudden awakening after the passing of TB Joshua.
