Labour Party Representative-elect Impressed by President Tinubu’s Intelligence and Commitment to Nigeria
Godwin Ogar, a newly elected member of the House of Representatives on the Labour Party platform, expressed his admiration for President Bola Tinubu’s intelligence and dedication during a recent meeting. Ogar, who represents the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State, shared his sentiments with journalists after a gathering of National Assembly members-elect aimed at resolving the lawmakers’ leadership crisis.
In an interview, Ogar enthusiastically stated, “Today is my best day; today I’m so happy that I’m an elected member, seeing my President talking. In fact, I never knew that this man was so intelligent.” He further praised Tinubu’s preparedness to serve the nation, remarking, “He is so prepared to serve this country. During my meeting with him, I saw the love, the character, the charisma, and the belief that Nigeria can be a better nation.”
Ogar expressed his optimism that the meeting would contribute to a more stable House, saying, “So I’m so glad that the meeting we have today is going to take us a little bit to a more stabilised House.” He emphasized that party affiliation was not a concern for him, as the priority was the growth and development of the country. “As of now, the party is not the issue; we’re talking about building the nation,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that Ogar emerged as the official winner of the election, as declared by the Independent Electoral Commission on February 25. He garnered a total of 11,822 votes, surpassing his closest opponent, Nkiru Onyejeocha of the All Progressives Congress, who received 8,752 votes. Ogar’s victory marked the end of Onyejeocha’s 16-year tenure in the position.
