Aisha Mohammed, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) coordinator in Katsina State, has issued a stern warning to officials against extorting corps members.

Mrs. Mohammed delivered the caution in Katsina while addressing the heads of assignments for the upcoming 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I orientation course.

The NYSC three-week orientation course is set to commence on Thursday.

“The warning is to draw your attention to redouble your commitment against such acts while on duty. I will be conducting unscheduled inspections in local government areas. Any official found absent will face sanctions,” she stated.

The coordinator urged staff members to handle their assigned duties with marked professional devotion and seriousness.

She emphasized the importance of better administration by adhering to the right procedures in their respective roles.

Mrs. Mohammed encouraged them to be courteous when dealing with corps members, especially upon their arrival at the camp.

She also called on zonal and local government inspectors to caution corps members about the implications of improper dressing and traveling without permission.

The NYSC boss advised the staff to prioritize their health, highlighting the need for them to stay healthy to carry out their assigned duties effectively.

During the event, Allen Charles-Chisom was announced as the Katsina Camp Director for the upcoming orientation exercise.
