Shaibu highlighted the dire consequences of the economic decisions made by the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, emphasizing the lack of efforts to address the resulting crisis.

The unprecedented hunger, poverty, and hardship in Nigeria are part of Tinubu’s ultimate plan to decimate Nigerians and pauperize them until they have no shred of dignity left,” stated Shaibu.

He criticized Tinubu’s approach, comparing him to a quack doctor treating a cancerous patient, expressing concern that the policies implemented under his administration are exacerbating the suffering of Nigerians.

Furthermore, Shaibu pointed out that under Tinubu’s watch, poverty has reached an all-time high, with food inflation at 33%. He predicted a rise in unemployment, an increase in suicide rates, a spike in crime, and a surge in the number of out-of-school children.

The Atiku aide also highlighted the challenges faced by the private sector, with approximately 10 million small and micro-businesses closing down. He criticized the exchange rate’s free fall and the inconsistent nature of government policies, claiming that they have disrupted business projections.

Addressing the escalating prices of essential goods, Shaibu noted the significant increase in the cost of items like rice, beans, bread, and even basic baby formula. He underscored the impact on the average Nigerian, who can no longer afford decent meals.

To emphasize the severity of the situation, Shaibu cited a 100% increase in psychiatric patients admitted to the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Lagos and instances of individuals resorting to unconventional sources of sustenance.

In conclusion, Shaibu criticized Tinubu’s economic perspectives, accusing him of surrounding himself with loyalty over competence in his appointments. He highlighted questionable expenditures, including the purchase of a yacht, renovation of official residences, and approval of funds for National Assembly members‘ SUVs.

The current economic challenges, according to Shaibu, reflect Tinubu’s limited understanding of Nigeria’s diverse economy beyond Lagos. He concluded by questioning Tinubu’s ability to navigate the complexities of national economic management.
