Abia State House Of Assembly Speaker, Chinedum Orji Impeached
The members of the Abia State House of Assembly have impeached the speaker, Honourable Chinedum Orji.
Orji was dismissed around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2. About 18 of the 24 members of the House signed the impeachment petition, while four did not.

They include Ginger Onwusibe, Munachim Alozie, Solomon Akpulonu, and Kelechi Onuzuruike.
The removal of Orji was the result of a motion proposed by Chukwudi Apugo (Umuahia East) and seconded by Okey Igwe (PDP, Umunneochi).
In the meantime, the police and other security agents have taken control of the state Assembly to prevent any lawlessness and other unrest.
Meanwhile, On Tuesday, May 2, an Ikeja High Court arraigned Mr. Osibanjo Oluwaseun, the driver of the Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit that collided with a moving train at Ikeja and allegedly killed six people.
The state government has filed 16 counts of involuntary manslaughter and prior harm against the defendant, who was arraigned in front of Justice Oyindamola Ogala.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Babajide Martins, told the court that the BRT driver acted negligently by ignoring warning signals and colliding with an oncoming train, causing the deaths of the victims.
According to him, the defendant negligently caused severe injuries to ten other bus passengers.
