Thugs attacked Rabiu Ismaila, a Chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), and others for putting up campaign signs for a House of Representatives candidate in Osun State’s Atakunmosa East Local Government Area.
According to information gathered, some party members in the Ijeshaland communities of Owode, Igangan, and Olopon have repeatedly expressed their outrage over attacks.

They asserted that they had experienced more than three separate attacks in a single week.
In response to the attacks, the state’s chairman of the labour party, Comrade Bello Adebayo, urged Sunday Faleye, commissioner of police, to apprehend and bring charges against all of the thugs who assaulted party members.
Ismaila, one of the victims, spoke to the media and stated;

“I was hacked by PDP political thugs, and I am still receiving care at Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa.
The criminals come from Iwara. On November 30th, six of those thugs attacked me.

I was attacked for pasting posters for Kunle Gideon, also known as Aloba, a candidate for the Labour Party’s House of Representatives. That is the only wrong I did. In that region, we experience constant fear.

The same criminals who attacked Ismaila returned to attack other party members late Thursday night at around 11 of the clock in the village of Olopon Ajegunle, according to a second victim.
He remarked, “They came to my house, broke down the door, and began looting my possessions.
We were able to escape, thank God. Tayo, also referred to as Ijoba, is one of the individuals who came to attack us. Our local police officers are unable to control these criminals.
