Buda stated that his decision to leave the ruling party ahead of the general elections in 2023 was the result of a consensus among his political allies.

The remaining members of the ruling party in his local government were appreciated.

Buda resigned from his position as Chairman of the APC in Bukkuum Local Government.

Buda’s statement regarding his resignation reads, “I am pleased to inform you that I have decided to step down from my position as chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bukkuyum Local Government in the state of Zamfara.

“My resignation is in response to a political associate’s decision and conclusion.

“I appreciate the remaining APC members in Bukkuyum Local Government.”

Below is his resignation letter.

Buda’s defection comes days after the Zamfara State chapter of the PDP vowed that nothing will prevent the party from winning the state’s elections next year.

The Zamfara PDP stated that the APC in the state should stop celebrating the PDP’s absence from the upcoming election.

EJESGIST.NG disclosed that a Federal High Court in Gusau, Zamfara State, prohibited the PDP from fielding a candidate for governor in Zamfara for the 2023 elections.

According to an order issued by Justice Aminu Bappa on Tuesday, November 8, the court ruled that the PDP does not have a valid candidate for the governorship election in Zamfara.
