Details emerging from the incident reveal that a total of 13 military personnel were killed during a confrontation on Sunday, while another eight lives were claimed on Monday in a harrowing ambush. Among the fallen, a two-star captain and a major were reportedly involved in the ambush, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Reports indicate that the security forces were actively attempting to block the passage of the criminals, who were transporting rustled cattle through the Kundu route.

Injured vigilante Sani Adamu, speaking via a phone interview, provided insights into the intensity of the gun battle that ensued. Adamu recounted how the exchange took place within a distance of less than 100 meters, yet the vigilantes were met with a daunting challenge as the criminals wielded weapons of a significantly advanced nature. This imbalance in firepower is believed to have contributed to the unfortunate loss of lives during the clash.
