Benedict Etanabene of LP wins Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency
The Labour Party candidate, Mr. Benedict Etanabene, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s National Assembly elections into the Okpe, Sapele, and Uvwie Federal Constituency seats in Delta State.
Benedict Etanabene, a lawyer and former Petroleum Training Institute staff member, defeated Evelyn Oboro, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives and PDP candidate, and APC candidate, Mr. Henry Baro, to win.

With Etanabene’s declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Labour Party in Delta State has won two seats in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
The results announced by INEC on Monday night showed the Labour Party polling 37,107 of the total votes cast in the election, while the PDP candidate, Oboro, who came in second, scored 29,917 votes and the APC candidate, Baro, polled 22,388 votes to come in third.

With the result, the Labour Party becomes the first opposition party in Delta State to win the House Representatives seat for Okpe, Sapele, and Uvwie Federal Constituencies.
The party had earlier won the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat, having defeated the incumbent PDP candidate and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, at the polls.
