Nigerian stock market attracts N145.40bn investments from FBN Holding, others.

After a week of trading, the Nigerian stock market experienced significant activity with investors exchanging 9.831 billion shares in 54,478 deals, amounting to a total value of N145.408 billion. This represents a substantial increase compared to the previous week when 3.369 billion shares were traded in 39,764 deals, valued at N41.986 billion.

The Financial Services Industry dominated the volume of shares traded, with 8.349 billion shares worth N127.944 billion exchanged in 27,291 deals. The Conglomerates Industry followed in second place, with 420.770 million shares worth N1.683 billion traded in 2,840 deals. The ICT Industry occupied the third spot, reporting 220.121 million shares valued at N2.198 billion in 3,237 deals.

The top three equities in terms of volume were FBN Holding Plc, FCMB Group Plc, and United Bank for Africa. These three companies accounted for 6.071 billion shares worth N102.488 billion in 7,505 deals. FBN Holding, FCMB Group, and UBA contributed significantly, representing 61.75% and 70.48% of the total equity turnover volume and value, respectively.

On the other hand, Coronation Insurance’s share lost N0.22 kobo, Tripple Gee’s share decreased by N0.99 kobo, Ikeja Hotel reported a loss of N0.84 kobo, Lasaco’s share dropped by N0.44 kobo, and Champion Brew’s share fell by N0.78 kobo.
