Former APC Secretary asks President Tinubu to sack Wike

Tinubu told to Sack FCT Minister Over Rivers State Impeachment Plot.

Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised his voice in a fervent call to President Bola Tinubu, urging swift action to dismiss the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Frank’s demand arises from allegations that Wike is allegedly orchestrating a plot to impeach the Governor of Rivers State, Siminilaye Fubara.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Timi Frank strongly condemned the actions of the police, which included tear-gassing and dousing Governor Fubara with water. He expressed his concern about the situation and its potential impact on the government and the APC.

Frank asserted, “Already Wike has started demolishing houses and revoking ownership of landed property in Abuja to anger Nigerians, cause Tinubu to be hated and portray the APC’s administration as wicked and anti-people.”

He went on to suggest that Wike’s motives extended beyond this immediate crisis, stating, “All Wike is after is governance; he has started preparation for the 2027 presidency. So he’s very desperate, and he will do everything to please Tinubu, but at the same time, he is going to destroy the government if they do not call him to order.”

Timi Frank argued that Wike’s removal was necessary to prevent further harm to President Tinubu’s government and the APC. He emphasized, “If Wike loves Tinubu and believes in his administration, let him officially join the APC and become a card-carrying party member. But he has refused to do so because he wants to destroy the APC to enable him to contest for the presidency in 2027 using the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He has refused to defect to APC because of his evil agenda.”

Frank’s call for action also extended to governors from various political parties, urging them to support their Rivers State counterpart, Governor Fubara. He advised Fubara to remain steadfast and resilient in the face of what he termed “the evil machinations of Wike.”

The situation in Rivers State has garnered significant attention and raised concerns about the implications for both local and national politics. It remains to be seen how President Tinubu and other political leaders will respond to these calls for intervention.
