Calls for Tinubu’s Resignation Intensify Amidst FBI and CIA Document Release Threats.
In a significant turn of events, former All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson Timi Frank has urged President Bola Tinubu to step down from his presidency to avoid potential embarrassment as the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) consider releasing his records.
Reports have surfaced indicating that the FBI plans to disclose approximately 2,500 documents related to President Tinubu in October, a move that has prompted legal action from the President to prevent the release of these records.
Expressing his concerns, Timi Frank questioned why President Tinubu would attempt to block the FBI and CIA from releasing information about his past if he had nothing to hide. Frank suggested that such legal actions imply the existence of significant records that the President wishes to keep concealed from the Nigerian public and the global community.

Frank stated, “This move has confirmed that you have a serious criminal record that you don’t want Nigerians or the world to know. So if you know you have a criminal background, then the right thing for you to do is to resign now before you are disgraced out of office by the imminent release of records of your past activities by the FBI and CIA.”

Frank expressed his belief that the American court handling Tinubu’s case would treat him impartially, as the Chicago court did when ordering the release of Tinubu’s academic records. He called on the American government and its institutions not to be misled by Tinubu’s efforts to shield his past from Nigerians.
Frank commended the Chicago court’s decision to reveal Tinubu’s academic records and expressed confidence that the judges overseeing the current FBI and CIA cases would act in the best interest of Nigerians.
He called on Tinubu to stop using Nigerian taxpayers’ money to hire foreign lawyers to defend him in cases related to identity and perjury.
In a related development, the Supreme Court has announced its decision to review Atiku Abubakar‘s appeal against President Bola Tinubu’s win in the presidential election. Atiku has accused the President of submitting a fraudulent certificate from Chicago State University to INEC before the election, leading to further legal proceedings.
This latest development underscores the growing pressure on President Tinubu to address concerns regarding his records and qualifications.
