Political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade , has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to apologize to Nigerians for what he describes as “one of the most embarrassing speeches ever” during the ongoing COP 28 climate change event in Dubai.

In a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday, Frank criticized the over 1,400-strong government delegation to the international event, deeming it not only embarrassing but also contradictory to the government’s promise to cut down on spending.

Frank estimated that the President’s speech, which has garnered global attention for its inconsistency, has cost Nigerians over $20 million. He highlighted the disparity in delegation sizes, pointing out that Nigeria, with the third-largest delegation, failed to make a significant impact compared to China and Brazil.

Expressing concern about Nigeria’s international image, Frank urged President Tinubu to apologize and provide an explanation for the perceived embarrassment caused to the nation. He emphasized the importance of serious leadership, citing the negative impact on investor confidence in Nigeria.

Frank concluded by referencing an upcoming grand diaspora protest, asserting that it is a crucial avenue for the people to voice their concerns and advocate for change in leadership.
