Aminu Muhammed Adamu, a Federal University student from Dutse in Jigawa State who was arrested and tried for tweeting about , the first lady, is scheduled to meet with .

After regaining his freedom, according to his family, he is scheduled to meet Buhari.

Muhammad was freed after Aisha Buhari withdrew the case she had instructed the police to institute against the 23-year-old.

As previously reported, Muhammed, a final-year student in the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, tweeted in June 2022 that Mrs. Buhari had gained weight after participating in the looting of the country’s meagre resources while the masses suffered under her husband’s rule.

The first lady’s frequent trips to Dubai are well-known.

The caption of the tweet, which included a picture of Mrs. Buhari, roughly translates as “Mama has eaten poor people’s money and is now full.”

His friends claim that he wrote the post out of frustration with the protracted nationwide university strike.

The eight-month strike began in February 2022 and was over in October.

On November 8, however, security personnel picked up the 23-year-old student on campus, and he was reportedly beaten up after his arrest around noon.

Kabiru Shehu, Muhammad’s guardian, confirmed on Friday that the student was indeed in Aso Villa and was awaiting President Buhari.

“Aminu was set free. He is waiting to see President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Villa right now.

On Tuesday, the police had secretly presented Muhammad in court.

Many people have harshly criticised the First Lady on social media, calling her action an abuse of power, in response to the arrest and subsequent arraignment.

Prosecution attorney Fidelis Ogbobe stated that Mrs. Buhari took the action in response to the intervention of well-intentioned Nigerians when he announced the withdrawal of the case against Muhammad on Friday.
