After Son’s Death, Governor Sule Loses Younger Brother
On Saturday morning, the brother of the governor reportedly passed away.
An aide to the governor, Musa Barau, confirmed Sule’s death via a Facebook post.
According to Barau funeral prayer for the deceased, held on Saturday afternoon at Emir’s Palace Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA) in Nasarawa State.
“We regret to inform you of the passing of Labaran Sule, the younger brother of His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State.
“The funeral service was held at Gudi Emir Palace, Akwanga LGA.” May his soul rest in Aljannatul Firdausi, Ameen ya rabbi,” Barau wrote
This occurs several months after the governor’s son, Hassan Sule, passed away on January 26, 2023, following a brief illness.
Labaran Sule until his death was 36.
Meanwhile, Son of legendary musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, an Afrobeat singer, has been appointed ‘General Overseer’ of his prison cell by fellow inmates at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
As a result of an assault on a police officer, Seun Kuti is currently being held in custody at the facility.
Seun was initially rejected by the inmates when he entered the cell during a tumultuous reception. However, following negotiations and an offer of monetary compensation, the prisoners accepted him as their leader. They even presented him with a Holy Bible as a symbol of his authority.
The incident that led to Seun’s arrest occurred on May 13, when a video of him slapping a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge went viral on the Internet.
The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, ordered his arrest after the incident. On May 15, Seun later turned himself in to the police accompanied by his legal counsel. He was then brought before the Sabo, Yaba Chief Magistrate Court, which ordered his detention.
When Seun was placed in a cell with other detainees, he encountered opposition from the other detainees. By banging on the protective cell door, they expressed their displeasure and demanded that he be removed from their midst.
