Guinness World Records Disassociates Itself from Viral Reports of Nigerian Man Attempting “Longest Crying Marathon” Record
Guinness World Records has officially distanced itself from the viral reports regarding a Nigerian man’s attempt to break the record for the “Longest Crying Marathon.” The organization made it clear that they had not approved such a record and would not be able to monitor it.

Earlier reports had circulated, stating that the young man had experienced partial blindness as a result of his bizarre endeavor to cry continuously for 100 hours. Tembu Ebere, the individual in question, confirmed his alleged blindness and the accompanying health issues in an interview with BBC.

According to Ebere, during his attempt to cry non-stop for seven days, he temporarily lost his vision and could not see anything for a period of time. He also mentioned suffering from headaches, puffy eyes, and body pains as consequences of his 45 minutes of blindness.
Realizing the detrimental effects, he re-evaluated his strategy and reduced the intensity of his crying, as it was causing him severe headaches.
